Under the new Stimulus Package that was passed earlier this year by Congress, homeowners may qualify for up to $1500 in tax credits when they install higher efficiency air conditioners and gas furnaces. While package air conditioners at least 14 SEER and 12 EER as well as gas furnaces that are at least 95% efficient qualify for the tax credit, the eligibility of gas packs were in doubt as the A/C side met the requirements but the gas heating side did not. Fortunately, the IRS has announced that package gas electrics that are at least 14 SEER and 12 EER do qualify completely. For Comfortmaker dealers, this means the entire line of products, 2 through 5 ton, now qualify. For a complete list of Comfortmaker products that qualify for the tax credit, click here.
